Purpose

The Pebble Creek Community Church is a non-denominational Protestant Church whose purpose is to glorify God by serving Him in the following ways:

  1. We exist to grow stronger as we celebrate God's presence in worship.
  2. We exist to bring people into a personal relationship with Christ through evangelism, valuing spiritually strong individuals and families.
  3. We exist to equip God's people through Bible study, prayer and discipleship.
  4. We exist to demonstrate God's love through ministry and mission.
  5. We exist to receive people into the fellowship of the Body of Christ, His church.

Statement of Faith

A. We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as being verbally inspired and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
(Matthew 5:17-18; Luke 24:27, 44; John 10:35: II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21, 3:15-16).

B. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John 6:27; Acts 5:3-4: Hebrew 1:8; II Corinthians 13:14)

C. We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man. (Matthew 1:16; 20-25; Luke 2:40-52; 7:48; John 11:35; Phil. 2:5-8)

D. We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and indeed practice sin in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26, 2:17, 6:5; Psalm 14:1-3, 51:5; Romans 3:10-19, 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3)

E. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (John 1:29, 3:16; Romans 3:25-26; II Corinthians 5:21, Eph. 2:8-9).

F. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven and His present life for us as High Priest and Advocate (John 20:20; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 7:25; I John 2:1).

G. We believe in the blessed hope: the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (John 13:1-3; I Corinthians 15:51-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:4-6).

H. We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God, a relationship in which they are eternally secure (John 1:12, 10:28-30; Acts 16:31; Romans 8:28-39; Titus 3:5; Jude 24).

I. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust, the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost, and the eternal blessing of fellowship with God for the saved (Luke16:19-26; John 5:25-29; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15).

Covenant of Fellowship

As a standard of Christian conduct, each member, with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit will endeavor to follow the guidelines put forth in the Covenant of Fellowship.

  7. To contribute, as the Lord directs, to the financial support of the Church, the relief of the needy and the evangelization of all people.
  8. To engage in regular, personal Bible reading and prayer and to encourage our families in the same direction.
  9. To walk circumspectly in the world, being honest before all, and faithful in engagements, exemplary in deportment, denying ungodliness and worldly lust.
  10. To endeavor by example, by word and by prayer, to witness to others and bring them to an acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Ordinances

Ordinances of the church shall be those specifically designated by the Scriptures; namely: Communion/Lord's Supper and Water Baptism. We believe that Christ is present in these two ordinances through the presence of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; Acts 8:36-38; 10:47-48; 16:32-33; 18:7-8, I Corinthians 11:20-34)

A. Communion/Lord's Supper - We believe this ordinance represents the body and blood of Jesus. The bread represents Jesus' body broken for us and for our Salvation. The wine
represents Jesus' blood which was shed as an atonement for our sins. The ordinance of Communion/Lord's Supper shall be observed at least quarterly by the church and as often as the
Board of Elders may deem best. Our church practices Open Communion. We invite believers from all denominations to join with us.

B. Baptism - We believe this ordinance represents the death and burial of a believer's old, sinful life and resurrection to a new life in Jesus Christ. It is not necessary to salvation, but it is an outward manifestation of the work of the Holy Spirit within the believer. Baptismal services are to be arranged by the Pastor and the Board of Elders as the occasion arises. Because of the interdenominational fellowship, candidates for Baptism shall be given their choice of mode, according to their conscientious understanding of the Scriptures – Immersion, Sprinkling, or Pouring.
