Our Shoeboxes Are Packed!

October 28, 2020

Since 1999, the PebbleCreek Community Church has supported the mission of Operation Christmas Child.

In this crazy year of COVID, gathering to pack shoeboxes for the children was not possible or responsible. Our church teamed with Samaritan’s Purse to introduce building shoeboxes virtually, online.  The response has been wonderful. In a very short period of 4 weeks, our congregation built 117 shoeboxes online. Through your love and generosity 117 needy children will be introduced to Jesus Christ this Christmas.

“I hope all those who participated in the OCC Shoebox ministry this year are blessed in a mighty way,” said pastor Bob Ripley.  “The online feature was certainly a great add on.  Peggy and I tried it out and have to say it was a fun experience. Let’s pray that many lives are changed due to all those little boxes we took the time to pack and send.”

But WAIT!  There’s more coming!

Many people donated funds though our PCCC Treasurer and the Missions Committee authorized 51 shoe boxes to be filled through BUILD A BOX Online PCCC webpage.

People wanting to continue to BUILD A BOX Online may do so but should let Edna DeFord know the number of shoe boxes built so that number can be counted in our total number of filled boxes. Samaritan’s Purse had to have a cutoff date for the personal webpages to get their work done.

In addition to the 117 shoeboxes built online, many of our families have elected to build their shoeboxes at home. We are expecting between 550 – 600 additional shoeboxes to be packed by the November 21st turn-in deadline.

We are surely blessed with your love and generosity!  Thank you!

Merry Christmas!
